General Items
- Document all actions taken during the resuscitation process.

Preparation
- Gather necessary supplies: bag-mask device, oxygen, suction device, intubation kit, IV supplies.
- Ensure a warm environment to prevent hypothermia.
- Check the neonatal resuscitation area is clear and ready.
- Prepare resuscitation team and assign roles.
Initial Assessment
- Assess the newborn's airway, breathing, and circulation.
- Evaluate the newborn's heart rate, tone, and color.
- Check for the need for immediate resuscitation.
Airway Management
- Position the newborn to open the airway.
- Clear the airway using suction if necessary.
- Provide positive pressure ventilation if not breathing or heart rate <100 bpm.
Ventilation
- Use bag-mask ventilation with appropriate mask size.
- Monitor chest rise to ensure effective ventilation.
- Assess heart rate and oxygen saturation during ventilation.
Chest Compressions
- Initiate chest compressions if heart rate <60 bpm despite adequate ventilation.
- Use the correct hand position and depth for compressions.
- Coordinate compressions with ventilations (30:2 ratio).
Medications
- Administer epinephrine if heart rate <60 bpm after 30 seconds of effective compressions.
- Consider volume expansion if signs of hypovolemia.
- Document all medications and dosages given.
Post-resuscitation Care
- Monitor vital signs and provide thermoregulation.
- Assess for any need for further interventions.
- Communicate with the family and provide updates.
