General Items
- Debrief and review performance after testing.
- Document any findings and areas for improvement.
Preparation
- Ensure all necessary equipment is available and functional.
- Review BLS guidelines and protocols.
- Confirm participant's understanding of the skills being tested.
Initial Assessment
- Check for responsiveness of the victim.
- Call for emergency assistance if unresponsive.
- Assess breathing and circulation.
CPR Skills
- Position hands correctly for compressions.
- Perform chest compressions at the correct rate and depth.
- Provide rescue breaths (if applicable) correctly.
- Alternate between compressions and breaths as required.
Use of AED
- Retrieve AED promptly after calling for help.
- Turn on AED and follow voice prompts.
- Attach pads correctly on the patient's chest.
- Clear the area before analyzing heart rhythm.
- Deliver shock if advised by the AED.
Post-Resuscitation Care
- Monitor the victim's breathing and pulse.
- Position the victim in the recovery position if they are breathing.
- Provide reassurance and comfort to the victim until help arrives.
